How does Test to Buy work?
Submit a few details about your device online. You'll get an instant confirmation email, then our technicians review the submission — no automated pricing bot — and email you to confirm details and, if it's a fit, arrange an in-person look at our Bangor location.
How do I get paid?
Once we've tested your device in person and agreed on a value, you can choose a company check or Computer Doctor store credit. Most evaluations wrap up in 1–4 days.
Where do I bring my item?
Our shop is at 11 Bangor Mall Blvd, Suite B, Bangor, Maine. We'll confirm drop-off details when we follow up on your submission.
Can I sell my iPhone or Android phone to Computer Doctor?
Yes. We consider unlocked, clear-IMEI iPhone 12 and newer, plus newer Samsung and Android phones. Submit your device online and we'll follow up by email.
Do you buy MacBooks, iMacs, and Windows laptops?
Yes. Macs need Apple silicon (M-series) and support for the newest macOS. Windows PCs must support Windows 11. We don't currently buy Chromebooks.
Can I sell my gaming PC, or just parts like a GPU?
Both. We consider complete gaming PCs as well as newer individual parts — GPUs, CPUs, RAM, motherboards, cases, and power supplies. Our staff confirms compatibility and condition.
I go to UMaine or Husson — can I sell my laptop before I leave campus?
Definitely. We're a short drive from both the University of Maine in Orono and Husson University in Bangor, and we work with students all the time — move-out week, end of semester, or anytime you're upgrading.
