Questions? We’ve Got Answers. (And We Promise They’re Actually Useful.)

Look, we get it. FAQ pages are usually where companies dump a bunch of corporate nonsense that nobody asked for, written in a language that sounds like it was translated from legal-ese through three different AI bots.

Not here.

This FAQ actually answers the questions people really ask us – like “How much is this going to cost me?” and “Can you really save my photos from that hard drive I definitely didn’t back up?” and “Do I need an appointment or can I just show up looking panicked?”

We’ve been fixing computers, phones, and just about everything else with a circuit board since 1996. That’s a lot of “wait, so how does this work?” conversations. We’ve taken all those questions, the ones people ask at our counter every single day, and put the answers right here. No fluff. No “please contact our customer service department for more information.” Just straight answers from people who’ve seen just about every tech disaster imaginable.

So go ahead – find your question below. And if you don’t see it here, that’s what the phone is for. We’re actual humans, and we’re happy to help.

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Call us at (207) 942-9505 or drop us a message. We don’t bite, even if your computer does.

How long do repairs typically take?

Most repairs are completed within 7-10 business days from when your device enters the diagnostic queue. The timeline depends on the complexity of the issue and parts availability. For faster service, we offer Priority Service for an additional fee.

No appointment is necessary! You can walk in during our business hours (Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm). However, if you’re coming during our busiest times (lunch hours or Saturday mornings), calling ahead can help us prepare for your arrival.
  • Your device (computer, phone, tablet, etc.)
  • Power cable or charger if you have it
  • Any passwords or unlock codes we might need to test your device
  • A description of the problem you’re experiencing
  • Any error messages you’ve seen
We accept cash, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), and debit cards.
Yes! We stand behind our work with warranties that vary by repair type. We’ll explain the specific warranty terms when we quote your repair.
If we determine that your device isn’t economically repairable, we’ll be honest with you about it. In most cases, your diagnostic fee still applies because we’ve invested time in the assessment. However, we’ll always explore all possible repair options before recommending replacement.

No, we’re closed on Sundays. Our hours are:

  • Monday-Friday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
  • Sunday: Closed
What is the diagnostic fee?

We charge a check-in fee that goes toward your repair cost if you proceed:

  • Standard devices (computers, phones, tablets): $50 deposit – applied to repair cost
  • Data recovery assessment: $75 fee (does NOT apply to recovery cost due to specialized diagnostic equipment required)
  • Gaming PC builds: $100 deposit
Priority Service moves your device to the front of our repair queue for an additional $75. This fee does NOT apply toward your repair cost – it’s solely for expedited service. With Priority Service, your device gets immediate attention instead of waiting in the standard 7-10 business day queue.
Yes! We offer discounts for students and educators. Bring your valid student ID or school employee ID when you drop off your device.
Yes, we match prices on comparable services from local competitors. Just bring in a written quote and we’ll match it.
We can provide general price ranges over the phone, but accurate quotes require us to examine your device. Every repair situation is unique, and we need to diagnose the specific issue to give you an honest, accurate price.

Yes, we buy and sell used computers, phones, and parts. Bring your device in and we’ll take it into our Test-to-Buy program. Once a technician has looked your tech over, you will be contacted with an offer or not.

Can you save my data during repair?
In most cases, yes. We make every effort to preserve your data during repairs. However, for certain repairs (like hard drive replacement or some motherboard repairs), data loss is possible. If data preservation is critical, let us know upfront, and we can discuss backup options. For serious data concerns, check out our dedicated data recovery services.

Yes! We service all major brands including:

  • Computers: Apple, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Samsung, Gateway, Alienware, and more
  • Phones: iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel, Motorola, LG, OnePlus, and more

We keep common parts in stock for popular devices, especially iPhone screens and batteries. For less common repairs, we may need to order parts, which can add 1-3 days to the repair time.
Yes, for certain repairs! Common mobile device repairs (screen replacements, battery swaps) can often be completed the same day when we have the parts in stock. Priority Service also speeds up turnaround time for other repairs.
